Talking about important things

Standard

I want to talk about things that matter. I want this blog to be a forum for me and readers to share things that really count.

I want to talk about how important it is to empower women to raise families, to breastfeed, to have their babies their way. I want to talk about how having a mother in the home full time is best for happy homes and families. I want to talk about how hard it is to not believe the lie that being a stay-at-home mom is unfulfilling or falls short of our potentials as women.

I want to talk about how important it is to empower men to be dads who are involved and hands-on with their kids and to be husbands who are engaged with their wives. I want to talk about what’s happening to men and how feminism is pushing out all room for good, strong men in the world. I want to talk about what that does to families and to our society and how lessening men lessens women.

I want to say the hard things about families and gender roles and how what the world believes, and sadly what I have seen “believers” buy into, is wrong.

I want to talk about our government, how far we have come from where we started and how that’s not a good thing. I want to talk about how important it is that we invest in our government. I want to talk about how critical it is that we vote and vote informed. I want to talk about our abysmal voter turnout and what we need to do to change that.

I want to talk about our national debt, and our foreign wars and our foreign aid to terrorists. I want to talk about the scope of our federal government and the proper role of state government. I want to talk about why it matters.

I want to talk about how important religion is in the big picture. I want to talk about different views and how we learn things from taking the good that everyone has.

I want to talk about why things make us uncomfortable and I want to talk about things that make us uncomfortable. I want to talk about history and the bad things in our history, things that have been whitewashed out.

I want to talk about things that make us comfortable. I want to talk about the good things in our history and how our freedoms have lead us to a higher standard of life and comfort.

I want to talk about how religion has a place in everything we do. I want to talk about principles and values and standing for something.

Occasionally, I want to talk about my family and my daughter because she’s important to me.

I want to talk about things that matter and I want to do it right.

So, readers, those who have asked me why I haven’t posted in so long, here’s your answer: words matter. I want mine to count. I’m going to have writer’s block and get stuck trying to say the right thing. I’m not going to post everything I write and I’m going to rethink and rewrite. These words are incredibly personal to me.

Hopefully when I do post, you’ll still be around to read, knowing that I’m trying to write things that will be worth you reading. I’m not going to waste my time or yours.

Stay with me, and we’ll talk about important things.
